It was a necessity, at the time. Not the largest incident here, I don't think, but one of the first nasty ones. There was a man staying at the house - claimed to be the brother of a prince, but there's no way of knowing for sure. He'd apparently been on bad terms with a vampire from his homeland.

Your father claimed the house afterward. The enchantment was to throw off the police investigation, but the house ended up being a symbol of just how furious he'd been. Good kind of place for inspiring fear.
