[The idea of using the town house as an actual office during most nights of the week is an idea that has paid off since Alucard came up with it. They are a year past his mother's death now. Spring will be sweeping in soon, and he can be content with the fact some of the little ideas work.

Smaller problems come to him during office nights. Territory disputes. Concerns. Questions and clarifications. He sees each and every one of them in turn, relying on the living room to act as a more comfortable office. It helps to reinforce the fact that Alucard is just regent. This is all administrative work done on his father's behalf. Trevor or Sypha or both of them are there, depending on schedules and demands of their time elsewhere.

Tonight, it's one of the younger vampires who comes to the door. Nearly beats it down, swings around the corridor (he has been here before, so an invitation is not required) and skids into the living room. The explanation is hurried but terribly concise. The circus that came to town, there's something there, something necromantic.

Alucard's eyes flash with a terrible fury and he rises to his feet. Demands the vampire keep talking as he hurries to the garage, confident that Trevor is behind him.

They had a sick tiger for a while, apparently. A Siberian one? Rare, well trained, I think the papers had more information. I thought it was weird a circus was traveling this early, but they're one of the poorer ones and probably need the money. A mortal friend just phoned me from it, said that there's chaos and...

The dhampir nods. The right thing was done. They're at the garage now, Alucard climbing into his car and reving the engine. Waiting until Trevor's in the passenger seat. Behind them the garage door opens, and the vampire takes this as dismissal. He's out and away with all the speed his kind has, and Alucard waits until he's sure the fledgling is clear before he backs up and out the drive way. Then? Then he speeds.

Tearing through the city streets in the car isn't a new sensation. The circus is in one of the wards that has the room to support the big top and all the other tents such a thing needs.]

Why is it always necromancy?!
