For the love of--

[Alucard knows Bucharest's catacombs and sewers only because he is required to. They all threatened to connect to his crypt at one point when he was first building it, and none were allowed to simply waltz into his place of rest.

It has it's advantages though, like here and now. Alucard carries a torch in one hand, the cane that hides his sword in the other. The section he is in is medieval, and he knows it not from the stonework or the rare date chiseled into the building blocks, but by the smell as it hits is all too sensitive nose. The eras here all have their own scent, sometimes musty, sometimes bloodied, all stale and choking because there is so little fresh air in these places.

All the better for the night hoards that have begun to creep out and attack the citizens of the city. They're forged things, that much Trevor confirmed a few weeks ago based on their horrible eyes and their movements, the way white bone shows in the gas lights of the city. Where the forger resides has yet to be answered, and in truth, it hasn't been the priority. Avoiding nightly attacks has been.

"There's probably a nest somewhere" was how this all started, because Sypha was a keen mind who understood these things. Trevor had agreed based on experience, and so the two had made a list while Alucard listened, nodding along quietly but not contributing to the conversation beyond that. He knew, because in his heart he always knew, that his father was connected to all of this somehow. He simply wasn't sure of the specifics.

In between the conversation and Alucard entering the catacombs, Sypha's people had called her away for another emergency that her magic was required for, Alucard had received poor news of allies up in the mountains, and two people had died in attacks from the night creatures in spite of Alucard and Trevor's best efforts.

No wonder he was stupid and angry enough to go to the catacombs alone. No wonder Alucard knew he'd do the same thing if he wasn't the one out searching for Trevor.

He sighs as he turns a corner, yet again failing to find Trevor.]

I swear, I've walked the entire city already.
