20s AU Post

Current Carmilla plot outline
--Post-fire, Carmilla and Mr. Peanut team up mostly to use each other. Carmilla's spent the past several months (since November, it is now February 1925) networking, and it's clear to her that Alucard's not suited for the position and that the other two are the obvious weakness. Mr Peanut needs something back, so this is perfect on her end. Mr Peanut can only imagine the joys of vampire blood in his work, and he'd like an army of vampires for his own ends.
--Shit stirring from Mr Peanut (all of March?)
--Mr Peanut also begins to sell mis Miracle Serum, which has vampire blood in it.
--Gang is very much trying to murder Mr Peanut during this.
--Start of April, vampire gets a call from one of the blood bank contacts that 3 patients have come in and are displaying some bizarre signs. Investigation yields the fact that they're in process of turning, and they've all taken the same serum.
--Additional investigation reveals O FUCK IT MR PEANUT
--Meanwhile Carmilla's been made aware of a familiar she didn't sire, so she knows something's up. Big fight with Mr. Peanut and thus Mr. Peanut is left depowered
--Gang commits a murder
--Carmilla's well sured up on her contacts now, and it's time for open rebellion (mid-April)
--In a more subtle attempt to let Alucard just step aside, she cuts the breaks on demon car and shows up to gloat/suggest he not pull a dad and go to deal with his grief quietly while she runs the city. The how he wants to do it is up to him (black widow joke goes here.) Treffy and Sypha walk in.
--1 week of straight up rebellion; feedings, no help from allies, need to do damage control instead of fight carmilla, every dracula rule is
--MEANWHILE IN GRAVITY FALLS, triangle shows Vlad what's up to try and psyche him out, somehow this finalyl snaps Vlad out of his depression and he heads home
--Just in time for Alucard and Carmilla to be tearing each other to bits in one of the bayous, it's not going well
--Vlad coming in means the king of vampires is accosted by a belmont with a pair of blessed knitting needles and a speaker with a fucking gun and he's just like what the shit happened to the world while i was gone
--Wards around the fight means that only demon car can break the wards, everyone has to pile in.
--Carmilla gets her ass kicked AND SENT TO THE JUSTICE DIMENSION

THEN THERE WERE FAERIES.
--Prior to all of this the vampire and Sypha have done a shit ton of research on how to get their Belmont back
--Sypha has also been practicing debating with dad, which leaves everyone Very Tired.
--When Trevor is actually snatched up (1 year after marriage, it takes fae effort. Taking Arn's shape fails, so it's a lot more kidnapping by force), Sypha and Alucard go into Faerie
--But they're playing this as politics, not as heroes rescuing their damsel, so that means the faeries are just "wait what now excuse u?"
--There are 3 gates and 3 trials (the particulars we're still bullshitting.) Each is asked to sacrifice 3 things. (Alucard: voice, his titles as bestowed upon by his father and his people, i forget the third; Sypha: her human form (she's a birb), fuck what were the other two)
--They enter the court at the end of the third trial. After LITERALLY ALL THE TITLES Sypha declares she Speaks for Trevor Belmont
--Claim debate over Trevor, turns out that the rules are in Sypha's favor.
--But that means debating to leave Fae without giving up what they've chosen.
--Sypha lawyers it all out, Alucard is a safety deposit and hangs out with Fae!Trevor
--In the end, safe passage out of Faerie consists of Sypha giving up her memory of the necromancer (billed as a great mage she studied under), the vampire gives up his immortality, and Trevor is replaced with Carmilla (dad was aware of this option and OK with it), but Trevor has his ability to swear taken. He now soundslike a rubber ducky when he tries
--Everyone gets home okay, except for the AU of this AU where the gang fails, but Trevor's on their doorstep like a bat out of Hell because time doesn't work right and he's been in Hell for a WHILE.

[ He tries to be quiet and steady as he carries Alucard through the castle and eventually sets him down on the bed and largely succeeds, to much that it's probably the distant sound of running water that wakes him from his dozing. Trevor isn't there. Not until the noise stops and he walks back into the room.

He leans forward to kiss Alucard's forehead. ]

You have to be awake, if I'm going to undress you. It's no fun otherwise.

[The dhampir is only nearly asleep because of the water. It's a wonderful lie to tell himself as blearily picks his head up off the mattress, not having moved from where Trevor set him. Oh, sure, he might have managed to undo a few shirt buttons, but that's it. Stunning.

He smiles at the kiss though. Manages to upwright himself.]

M'awake. Promise.

[ The thing about living together this long - the thing about living together in a situation where they've all had to tend to each other's injuries - is that there are ways of undressing someone that are completely unsexy. Even when you kiss them as you do it. Even when they're the most beautiful thing under the sun. It's nothing near platonic, but it is possible to pull off someone's trousers and sit on a bed with them gathered up against your chest and have it be a non-sexy thing.

It helps when they're exhausted and a little stinky, obviously. ]

Ready to get un-smelly?

[Alucard's not the limp thing he's been in the past when they've had to do this for him. He's active and engaged enough to help, but mostly useless. And tired. And still managing a smile as Trevor pulls him close.]

I believe so. Although standing like this is quite nice too.

[ He carries Alucard to the bathroom and lowers him into the water, thankfully having remembered to underfill the tub this time to keep it from spilling over when a person is added. Once he's done, he combs through Alucard's hair with his fingers. ]

Want me to stay here, or should I go deal with the laundry?

Stay? [Please?]

Alucard's hand reaches out, trying to catch Trevor's wrist.]

Laundry can wait. I...your presence matters.

[ Oh. He’s like this. Trevor should have expected that, in truth, but it’s still always somehow a surprise that other people also get soft and clingy. He smiles, rolling up his sleeves so that he can wrap his arms around Alucard’s shoulders without getting his clothes too damp. ]

Of course. Of course. As long as you need.

[Alucard's head moves, forehead resting on Trevor's upper arm. The rest of the dhampir is so very submerged in all the warm water, and for the life of him, Alucard may well fall asleep like this.]

Thank you.

[He's never begrudged being cared for by the other two. Yes, there have been times that it's been much too tense because of injuries, but it's never been terrible. Here and now? Curled up like this?

Alucard couldn't be happier.]

[ It’s tempting, truly tempting, to just keep holding him like this. His husband. His beautiful, exhausted, somewhat smelly husband. ]

You’re probably going to need to wash yourself. [ He says, after a while. The water is still warm but the bubbles have long disintegrated into nothing. ] water’ll go cold eventually.

[ He is not, however, letting go. ]

[He dozes off in the tub. By a lot if how his breathing slows, perfectly at rest. His head never dipping into the water, braced against Trevor for support.

He stirs only when Trevor speaks. Murmurs. Then tries to sit up by just a little.]

My arms aren't cooperating.

Of course they’re not.

[ There’s no helping it, and he was always going to have to get changed before long anyway. He pulls away, so very reluctantly, before properly removing his shirt so that he can set about washing a vampire. ]

Sooner this is done, sooner you can sleep.

[Alucard tries to move. Insist that he can at least wash himself, but nope. No part of his body will move right now, and so he just sits there in the water, tired and cozy and adoring.]

You'll stay with me?

[Never mind the dirty dishes downstairs.]

I will.

[ Laundry and dishes can wait for morning.

Just as undressing is capable of being an entirely sexless thing by now, so is washing. Which is good, because that's energy Alucard almost certainly can't spare. But that doesn't mean it can't be a warm, fond thing.

And it is a warm, fond thing, from the moment he ties Alucard's hair up to keep it from getting any more damp than it already is. He manages a decent compromise between efficiency and closeness, washing Alucard quickly while also trying to keep an arm around him at all times.

It's worlds easier than it was when he was hurt. More pleasant, too. ]

So beautiful.

[Dishes might get done by dad in a rage that they left them out in the first place. He used to fight with Lisa all the time about where he found dirty dishes. She'd complain the kitchen was too many stairs away, and they'd fall into an old standby of a not-quite-a-fight.

Less for Trevor to do.

It's nice, Trevor's hands washing him. Intimate without being sexy, just a reminder of how wonderfully close all three of them are. And Trevor is so close now. It's hard for him to not keep one hand atop Trevor's as he washes, eyes closed because truly he's engulfed by the warmth of the water and the affection.]

Biased. [Alucard can't tell how much is left. He could just be in this moment forever.]

Love you.

[ Well if that happens? That sounds like Dracula's problem. Not his fault that Dracula is... exactly as obsessed with keeping things clean as he is.

...He doesn't like to think about how many similarities there are between himself and Dracula, really. ]

So very, very biased.

[ He chuckles and kisses Alucard's cheek, setting the washcloth aside and tugging the plug out from the tub. ]

I love you too. I'm going to leave for just a moment, okay? Just to get a towel.

[ 'Leave' is a strong word. He's going to let go and move two steps to the left. It feels like it still warrants warning. ]

[Look, things being clean is important, be it as a vampire or as a doctor! It's extremely important!

Alucard's pretty sure that he can survive a moment without a Belmont attached to him. All the same though, he reaches out a hand in an attempt to just summon a towel over. There's no surprise in him that the attempt fails in this state.

So he's good and patient, waiting for Trevor instead. Soft and a little colder now, but so very warm.]

Mmmmkay.

[And when the towel and Trevor do return? He's closer to a puddle of dhampir than a fuctional solid thing.]]

[ It's wonderful. Delightful. He wraps the towel around Alucard as he lifts him, bundling him up like something precious. ]

Back.

[ He kisses his perfect, perfect husband on the top of the head, bringing him back toward the bedroom. ]

You can sleep now, if you need. I'll just be drying you off and getting you ready for bed.

No.

[He tries to be defiant about at least that much. He nearly fusses in Trevor's arms, but restraints the urge. He can do that much.]

Not until you're in bed with me.

[There. A tiny, insistent tone. It's important.]

Okay, okay.

[ In truth, now they're no longer in danger, he likes when Alucard gets like this. It's cute. Makes him feel wanted. Gives him easy tasks that he can't fuck up at, like 'lie next to that vampire you adore'.

He lays Alucard down, untying his hair. ]

I'm going to have to let go of you a while for this. But I'll come back. I'll always come back.

[ Getting nightclothes onto Alucard he can probably manage without letting go of him too much, but changing into nightclothes himself will require a little more letting go. ]

[In the light of morning, or warmth of afternoon, Alucard will admit the behavior here and now to be childish. But for the moment, he can't make himself care. All he can do is stay where he's put, watching Trevor withdraw.]

What time will she get home?

[He's going to be asleep, but still.]

Train's in the early hours of the morning. The car'll bring her back, but I might need to get out of bed to bring her up here.

[ Okay, so maybe 'need' is a strong word, but she'll be sleepy and he likes excuses to carry everyone around. Unless Alucard asks him not to he'd going to see if he can get to carry the both of them up to bed in one night. ]

It'll only be a little while, and she'll be here when you wake up. [ He finishes buttoning up Alucard's pajama top and strokes his face. ] Promise.

That's fine. All of it.

[So long as she's here in the end, that's all that will ever matter.

Soft and stupid, towel still wrapped around him, the dhampir attempts to pull a few blankets closer to himself. It's cold now, the warm water gone and Trevor's body heat no longer near by.]

[ It's a few more moments before the pajamas are done and he can pull away the towel and dump it on the floor - he'll deal with it later with the rest of the laundry - and pull the blankets more tightly around Alucard. He kisses him again before he pulls away to change himself.

Which doesn't take too long. It's only a minute or so before he lies down on the bed himself, pulling Alucard against him. ]

Better?

[He's warm. That's nice, especially when Trevor leaves. Alucard knows, logically, that Trevor will return. That it'll be a minute or two at most and then he will have his Belmont.

But he's needy, and when Trevor withdraws it is instinct that causes him to reach out. Even if he's watching. Seeing exactly where Trevor is. It's fine and--

--oh.

Alucard buries his face into Trevor the moment he can. Wraps both arms around and clings, and never has it felt so good to do so. This is a clinginess born only of working as men do. No regent bullshit, no vampirism, no injuries. Just themselves.]

So much better.

Enjoy your rest, liliacul meu. You've earned it well.

[ Just themselves. And maybe some days that's uncomfortable for Trevor, when being himself is the last thing he's always been supposed to be. But right now? Right now it's perfect. ]
