[ His shoulders sink just a little. Oh well. It's hard not to be a little disappointed, but that's all. Asking was the important part, the part where he got to assert who he is. Everything else is secondary.
But he does move closer, standing and limping toward Alucard. To get a better look at the offending beard, and also to smell him. ]

-he brings a hand up to his own chin, rubbing at the stubble there. He's pretty sure he hasn't shaved in his life. Huh. ]

Humans smell like work. Sometimes. Vampires never do.
[ Which is bout the only way of saying YOU SMELL LIKE SWEAT and making it seem like a compliment. When Alucard gets up, he stops. Both to demonstrate that he isn't moving closer to force the kissing issue and because he's been given an instruction. ]

No, I-
[ He presses his lips together, thinking. ]
-You didn't do anything wrong. It just- helps. To do what I'm told. Easier that way.
[ Another pause, and he holds his arms out. Yes, he would like a hand down. Actually using words to ask for help is just hard. ]

[ He's been close to Alucard since that first night after the examination, but always for good reasons. Applying strange salves to injuries, measuring wings to try to understand how to make a shirt work. Never just- this.
It's nice. It's nice, but it makes him say stupid shit. ]
Got a question. Don't worry, not one about kissing.

If you'd known-
[ -this is difficult to ask, and he's not sure he even wants the answer. It's 'do you regret this' in the skin of another question, in part. But it's also something he needs to know. Alucard asked him if he was sure that he's want to bind himself to someone else so soon after the last set of bonds were broken.
He thinks he is, but he might need to hear this answer first. ]
-If you'd known who I was, would you still have taken me away from him?

[ He nods, and for a while he's silent. It's what he wanted to hear as is, but the lack of hesitation- that means a lot. THE FAIRY HAS DECIDED THAT HE IS MARRIED TO THIS VAMPIRE. ]
You don't have to call me your husband, if you don't want. Or do kissing. I don't mind.
[ ??????????????????????????????????????? ]
I won't hurt you or your family. I swear it. And-
[ He purses his lips, trying to think of something that might, might come close to convincing Dracula. ]
-if he has orders, I'll follow them. So long as you don't disagree with them.

[Trevor leans over to press a kiss to Adrian's temple, soft and brief and sweet in spite of its brevity. And that -- despite Trevor being entirely responsible for it -- gives him pause for a moment. It was an entirely unconscious gesture, and he has to wonder if he's already getting too comfortable with this. Though if Adrian's not complaining...
Trevor comes back to himself, and slides out of the booth again to work out payment with the host. It's all typical tedium, yes everything was excellent, yes he'll make a donation with his purchase, yes credit please, and by the time he returns to offer his arm to Adrian, he's fully out of whatever almost-dwell he'd been nearing.]
Ready?

Ready?
[Trevor's barely gotten situated in the car when Adrian's pressing against his side. His arm winds willingly around the dhampir's shoulders, and despite the lovely effect, he's somewhat resentful of Adrian's up-do. It's preventing his fingers from curling through the man's hair, and his hand hangs awkwardly for want of something to touch.
Trevor confirms their destination to the driver. But Adrian's current position cannot possibly be comfortable. Cars aren't generally the most comfortable place to have a snuggle, but this is unacceptable, considering Trevor can actually do something about it. He shifts, carefully maneuvering to lean back against the door, slipping his thigh beneath Adrian's knees to create a cozy space for the dhampir between the seat and Trevor's chest. Now, with the new position of his arm, he can easily brush his fingertips over Adrian's cheek instead. It's almost as good as his hair.]
Better?

Better?
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
[There's no doubt in Trevor's mind that Adrian's sincere in his gratitude. He's never seen the dhampir like this before, practically -- and almost aggressively -- melting against Trevor's chest. And it feels nice. There's an intimacy to it that Trevor can't put words to; not because he doesn't want to, for once. He simply doesn't have the words for it.
Perhaps part of him doesn't quite understand it yet, or why it feels so completely sublime. Waiting for the other shoe to drop has rarely been so enjoyable.
And sometimes if the shoe's not falling fast enough, Trevor has to hurl it himself.]
Any comments? Complaints? Recommendations for future outings?

[All right... All right, that's fair enough. Trevor won't argue it when Adrian's looking so incredibly content, though he has his doubts that it will actually come up tomorrow. At least he tried, and trying to sabotage a perfect night is about all a man can do.
Except for petting. He can pet now that Adrian's tucked so tidily against him, and his hand wanders carefully so as not to disturb anything vital on the dhampir's suit. Idle fingertips drift over Adrian's hair, his forehead, down his jaw, along the side of his throat; anywhere they can feasibly stroke without upsetting a bead or accessory.]
Thank you for coming with me tonight.

Of course.
[Escorting Adrian from the car is old hat at this point, with the added task of carefully extricating himself from the melting dhampir. Inside the front door, however, is as far as they get before Adrian's set upon. Trevor's behaved all night, even with hands and mouth all hunger and wanting, he's been good. And if he slips momentarily? Well, who could blame him?
As far as slips go, it's not terrible. Trevor backs Adrian against the closed door, moving to cradle his jaw with both hands, to hold him fast as Trevor catches his lips and kisses him, deep and lingering. Trevor's not sure when the taste of his lips became comforting, but it serves to drive away his doubt for a few moments, get him out of his own head with pleasant sensory distraction. That's the best thing he can ask for right now.
But he's promised to be a gentleman, and after a few moments, Trevor releases him again, fingertips drifting back to massage idly at the back of Adrian's neck.]
Go get comfortable, will you? It's hard to hold you with all this beading.

You're right.
[Just give him a minute. Just-- Just a minute. To wind his arms around Adrian's waist and bury his face against the dhampir's neck. The gratitude -- and his need -- overwhelms him at times, but he doesn't have to pay mind to it. He's a dab hand at refusing to acknowledge all other emotions, after all; why should this be any different?
With a regretful parting squeeze, Trevor takes a step back. With a steadying breath, he motions for Adrian to be on his way if he so chooses. He'll be following the dhampir upstairs to change, in any case.]
