I'm sorry. For me at this point, it is a basic fact. I did not realize that you'd prefer to communicate the matter yourself.

[ He wants to be MAD still but gets the feeling he'd just argue with Sypha again about it and he just.. doesn't want to, to be honest. So, instead, he sighs and just curls into the wall a little, arms still folded against his chest. ]

[ But he'll leave it at that because Alucard said sorry and all. ]

I'm sure you're happy that she's here though.

[Alucard's relieved that no argument happens. He just falls awkward and quiet, still not meeting Trevor's eyes.]

[ A sigh, he pushes himself away from the wall. Standing instead. ]

You don't have to put up with me anymore since she's here, so. Don't be so sulky.

I'm glad she's here. But I didn't want anyone else we cared about to be forced to deal with this place.

[His shoulders slink downward just a little more. If his own misery wasn't clear, it blips through on the bond. Just for a moment.]

[ He turns his back to the blond, intending to leave before Alucard speaks or huhs at him. He stops. ]

Your babysitting me. Sypha's here now so you don't have to pretend to care.

That stings.

Alucard picks his head up slowly, weariness on his face.]

I was never pretending, Belmont.

[quickwhip]

You said it yourself, Alucard. That Sypha would find a way to take care of me and so you'll do the same. For her.

[ He waves a hand about with a sigh, still not looking to the blond. ]

It's whatever. Don't worry about it. Just... you don't have to worry anymore.

[They had been doing better, hadn't they? This feels like being hurled back to the very beginning, and that? That makes everything so much worse.]

Do you really want that?

[His voice is soft when Alucard asks the question. There's a lot more fear and disappointment below. It's coupled with genuine hurt, and Alucard could care less if Trevor knows.]

[ He's quiet for a long moment and it's probably due to the blips of emotions that are filtering through their bond. It's strange because he feels himself... giving nothing back in return. As if he's empty. Maybe he's always been empty. That's likely, isn't it? Having always been on his own. Thinking he had maybe found some semblance of family or friends... only to be dragged her, turned into a monster, and then tortured on top of that. Fun times but also sounds about right for his life, doesn't it?

So he stands there. Quiet. Bruised fingers digging into his arms which tightly press against his chest, folded. ]

I just want to die already and get this over with.

That's...understandable.

[That's the worst part of it, isn't it? That Trevor's death is hanging over all of them, and now Sypha gets to experience that sorrow too.]

[ It's soft, only a touch curious, but also... tired. ]

[ Does he even know any fucking jokes to tell off the top of his he- oh. Oh. Wasn't being literal in the wanting a joke sense. Yeah.

Trevor... just stands there. Unsure of what to do because when the fuck ever does he know what to do when it comes to things like this?? Killing monsters? He's got you covered. Consoling or comforting someone down in the dumps? Let's not and say we did?? Yeah. But... he sighs after a moment, maybe mutters something under his breath before he goes to sit himself down on the bed a little ways from Alucard, arms still folded against his chest. ]

[The next part is the easy bit: Alucard moves over closer to Trevor, and pulls him into a side-hug.

Alucard's bad at this. Using Sypha to try and model the better behavior for emotions has been helpful, but this is far more genuine. The fear's still there though, and there is no point in trying to mute it.

He does nothing more. Just stays there, quiet. Holding Trevor.]

[ In things Trevor never expected to have happen to him... yeah. Alucard side-hugs him and Trevor just... sits there. Staring ahead. For a second. Because he sure does look to him out of the corner of his eye before looking back ahead. He also feels that fear. Scared he's gonna bite you?? ]

{He isn't letting go, at any rate.]

[ He needs to be careful here because this could easily swerve into him being a complete jerk to Alucard for the hell of it. That's just how they are?? Yeah. ]
