[There were several conclusions that Sypha had come to. First, Alucard was a cheater. Second, Alucard was a cheater. Third, it was bloody cold inside.
She would say that she had gone down swinging, at least putting up something of a 'fight', although the two against one had been too much for her in the end. If, and it was a big if, she ever decided to wager in the future, she would set the terms of a wager a bit more clearly.
But she had done as the terms had set out, more or less. She might have laid on the couch or carried a book that she just happened to be reading, or spend a little more time outside where she could wear her top. There might have also been some pointed looks and huffs from her.
Sypha might have tossed his book at his head, had Alucard specifically come out and said that the novelty had worn off, which was likely good that he hadn't verbalized that to her. Lunch was ready, even if Sypha wasn't the best cook, and she had gone looking for both. Personally, they should be glad that she hadn't spit in the soup... Trevor had been easy to find, giving him a clipped message, arms crossed beneath her chest. Alucard was harder to find, although eventually she had cracked open the door, finding him seated there.
Whereas she might have exited and bantered with him, today her head was all that did, leaving her bare torso pressed against the door. Not like they had many neighbours, but she also wasn't going to prance around showing off.]
Your food is getting cold.
[Although she did pause, as- yes, he was shirtless, which got a dubious look from Sypha as to why.]
[Alucard looks up when Sypha announces herself, and he takes the moment to close his book before looking up. There's a warm smile on his face, although Alucard isn't about to rise up from his very comfy spot at the moment.]
Thank you. I'm sorry that I lost track of time and you had to complete the task instead.
[He's better about that, most days.]
I think we can stand to call an end to this bet's stakes.
[The warm smile is still met with a look of suspicion, although Alucard hasn't exactly said too much on the matter at hand. And, the look only deepens when he says that they can call it off. She still remains watchful, regarding him.]
Because I lost a bet with myself about how long it would take for me to feel like we're just rubbing victory in your face, and how likely I was to take my own shirt off in solidarity.
Here I was thinking that you felt bad about cheating.
[And yes, it is certainly a wise call to not say his first implication. Then again, it is a little about the fact that she also lost the bet... And, if she is being honest, it had been a very nice sight, the two of them.
[With a retort like that, does he actually expect her to come?
She gives a little sniff, although damn him for being him. That soft sigh comes, and she half closes the door a little further, although only to grab something to cover up, wrapping it around her shoulders and tucking the sides in.]
Do not complain if your soup gets cold, or if Trevor eats it all.
[He shouldn't sound excited about that, but here we are. Alucard moves his book aside and lifts his arm up, just leaving it an option if Sypha wants to snuggle up against his side rather than simply sit.]
[It's a joke. A bad one, but right now, nothing's going to make things better.
Sypha does settle in though, and once she's there, both of Alucard's arms wrap around her and tug Sypha in close against him. Well, against his bare chest, which on one hand is the cause of all the problems here, but on the other, is still a very naked and muscular chest.]
Even if I propose that we just...don't make any more bets ever again?
Poor you... Should have captured some of the gummy army.
[There's a little oof, and a half debate of elbowing him in the side, but it is nice and he is a good hugger. The lack of his shirt does add to the whole experience as well.
Her mouth half opens to drive in the whole cheating thing and not doing that, but she nestles instead.]
[Alucard's relieved when all Sypha does is get comfortable. He'd be a liar if he said he didn't account for his shirtlessness being a boon in finishing this conversation.]
Can you also accept an apology for gaming the system?
[Sagely, although she is hardly one to speak of such things seriously.
She shifts a little, to quirk an eyebrow at him, and in particular, his choice of words. Gaming the system... Cheating. But she doesn't need to say that out loud, does she?
She hums a moment before a finger pokes at his bare side.]
Well, you are doing a very nice job of trying to get on my good side.
Of course you won't, because I would be far more specific in the future.
[Including an if you cheat, you automatically lose clause... Sypha may have had a fair amount of time to stew over her 'loss' the last few days. But, she is more than happy to just have playful banter and jests in the future, like they always have.]
[Does she enjoy the attention? Of course she does. Alucard has always been more reserved than Trevor, although he has certainly opened up since she had first met him, in many ways.]
He may not take one for some time now though, you realize.
We might have to entrap him by pretending to make out in a bath tub.
[So, the reverse of what he and Trevor just did.
Alucard's arms keep Sypha close and snug, because he's learned and accepted that whenever the two are around, he needs to take advantage of that fact. It's made him more outwardly affectionate with them both, but perhaps Sypha's a little more spoilt for it. Mostly because she doesn't protest as much.]
You can, but unfortunately, I am not and thus the problem in this particular plan.
[He's taking one for the team here. Alucard's pretty sure that the both of them would be too distracted and then fail in the mission objective, but hey. After this disaster bet? Sypha's more than earned it.]
[She snorts softly, as she knows that that would likely not be the case... But acknowledges that he is attempting to make up for his cheating. One hand does slip around his waist, resting more fully against his side.]
Ah, but there are certain things that you are very good at when it comes to multi-tasking.
Oh, I know. And I could list them off happily if we did not have to actually plan against Trevor.
[Ah. There they are. Alucard has no doubt now that he has been fully forgiven, and that comes with a very, very happy sigh pressed into the top of Sypha's head.]

I think we can stand to call an end to this bet's stakes.

... why?
[Has he lost a bet? He is shirtless, after all.]
no subject
No. Even Alucard knows that's the wrong answer.]
Because I lost a bet with myself about how long it would take for me to feel like we're just rubbing victory in your face, and how likely I was to take my own shirt off in solidarity.

Sypha would have just like to have won.]

[And IT WASN'T CHEATING! Additional guidelines were never set down!]
Come here?

[Matter of fact. Although she knew both men could fend for themselves if need be, and it isn't like anyone would starve to death before the next meal.
There is contemplation, before Sypha does settle next to him, nudging up next to him.]
Trying to butter me up for cheating is going to take more than this.

[It's a joke. A bad one, but right now, nothing's going to make things better.

[That's only a little bit of a joke. There will be days ahead where they actually do need to take care of that, he's sure.
He said cheating without using the word cheating! That's just something to be proud o-- hey!
Alucard huffs a little at the proding.]
Well, I apologize, and I won't do it again.

[Including an if you cheat, you automatically lose clause... Sypha may have had a fair amount of time to stew over her 'loss' the last few days. But, she is more than happy to just have playful banter and jests in the future, like they always have.]
... I suppose at least Trevor was super clean.
no subject
[Kissing the top of her head may be overkill. Who cares? Alucard does it anyway, stupidly warm and relieved.]
Well, after being more than a little filthy.
no subject
He may not take one for some time now though, you realize.

[A teasing tone back to her voice as she waggles her eyebrows. Yet the pout is real that she turns on him.]
Where is the fun in that?

no subject
[Maybe... But if they were making out, Trevor would come in, and he would get wet. So... Mission accomplished?]
